

Dried Apricot
ORIGIN: TURKEY
Turkey realizes 82% of the total dried apricot trade of the world. When we look at the world dried apricot production and export of dried apricot, it can be seen that Turkey is the leader without any serious competitors.
Apricot cultivation, which is spread in most of the agricultural regions of Turkey, finds its best environment in the province of Malatya. Due to the composition arising from the ecology of the province, Malatya origin apricots gained economic value in the form of dried apricots for years.
Turkish Dried Apricot from Malatya region, are famous because of the dry material content. While the dry material content of Malatya apricots vary between 24 % and 30 %, but other varieties was observed at only 20 %.
Classification of Turkish Dried Apricot : In Turkish Standards- TS 485, The two important quality criteria of dried apricots with regard to this standard are: moisture and SO2 contents, which should not exceed 25% and 2500ppm by weight respectively.The variety of Turkish sun dried apricots is Prunus armeniaca L. And called as "Sekerpare"


Dried Fig
ORIGIN: TURKEY
Turkey is the biggest dried fig producer and exporter in the world. 60-70% of world's dried fig production and 75% of world's fig export.
There are traces that figs were cultivated in their motherland Anatolia in the years of 3000-2000 B.C. and they were spread through the Mediterranean from Anatolia within time.
Turkish dried figs are grown under natural conditions and harvested and sun dried on racks under controlled conditions. They are graded, and stored in hygienic plastic food grade crates and washed with running warm water and packed at hygienic conditions.
In fig production, especially Izmir, Odemis, Tire, Aydin, Germencik, Ortaklar are the main places.
Classifications;
There are two groups; natural and shaped (processed).In the processed group there are different types like lerida (most wanted), garland, protoben, pulled, layer, etc
Moisture should not exceed 26 % by weight respectively.


Sultana Raisin
ORIGIN : TURKEY
Sultanas are dried seedless grapes of Vitis Vinifera L. variety. The large, yellow-green grapes that are dried into these raisins are particularly flavorful and soft. Sultana raisin are mainly used in the traditional cakes, breads and biscuits.
Aegean Region's bleached and unbleached grapes are used for the production of Turkish sultana raisins.
Turkey has the most suitable climate conditions for vine growing in the world and is the origin of the vine genes.
Grape figures which is found in different locations of Anatolia points out to the fact that growing grapes has been the part of the culture for centuries.
